Subject: Maha MH-BP-199/200 for the Icom T8A Date: Wed, 25 Nov 1998 21:04:20 -0800 From: "William Chueh" To: Dear sir, Happy Thanksgiving!! I am with Maha Communications, Inc., a leading battery pack manufacturer for the amateur radio. In October, we have released two new battery packs, MH-BP-199, and MH-BP-200 for the Icom T8A. In particular, your problem was addressed. I thought I should share this information solely from a technical point of view: 1) The material on Maha battery pack is greatly enhanced by ABS material. 2) The reason the original battery pack may experience occasional problem is because the "pressure point" was not applied correctly. This problem is addressed in our battery pack by "moving" the pressure point away from the edge of the tab to the larger surface. As a result, we pushing it down, the pressure was be deflected on the entire clip rather than just a single edge. Although there is little appearant differences between the MAHA and Icom, there is a great deal of engineering put in on that tab. I hope this information helps you to find a solution to your difficulties.
